NHL Odds – Oilers, Flames Stage Another Edition Of The “Battle Of Alberta” PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 06 December 2011 00:45

The Edmonton Oilers are one of the biggest surprises in the early season of the NHL campaign, and they may be the most exciting team in the league to watch. On Saturday, they’ll aim to avenge a home loss to their rivals from the weekend when they head south to Calgary.

Oilers Flames Odds – Saturday, 10:00 PM ET

The Oilers gave up three third-period goals in a 5-3 loss to the Flames on Saturday, and they still put in three with Taylor Hall on the sidelines as No.1 overall pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (one goal) continues to play well, but those who use a price per head service are still wary on the young Oilers, who still have a lot of work to do on defense.

The Flames got a huge night from captain Jarome Iginla, who had three assists, and you can expect his name to pop up more as teams will start to think about making moves to help their playoff chances. Calgary isn’t going to make the postseason and both parties should start to look at going their separate ways. Iginla deserves a chance at a Cup, and the Flames should be able to get some good parts for a rebuild (hopefully).

Calgary should be favorites at home over their provincial rivals, and they’ve beaten the Oilers in both meetings this year, a 2-1 win at home on October 18th and the win on Saturday. This will be the final of a three-game homestand, while this kicks off a three-game road trip for the Oilers, who are starting to come back to earth. Take Calgary at your online betting sites.
