The most-followed NHL score on next Saturday’s hockey slate may come from Detroit, where the Red Wings will host Dallas in a meeting of two old rivals from when the Stars were in Minnesota. The Stars are one of the surprising teams of the early season, while the Red Wings are coming off a big slump.
Stars Red Wings Odds – Saturday, 7:00 PM ET
Dallas is improving their per head odds one game at a time, and no one expected much from this team, which allows them to play relaxed. As of Monday, the Stars are 26th in goals scored, but second in goals allowed, so you know what their style is going to entail. This is the style that is going to get them into the playoffs, but it’s going to be tough for Dallas to keep this up.
The Red Wings will be wrapping up a six-game homestand, but Detroit had won just one of their last seven heading into this week’s action. They scored six goals during that stretch and everyone was starting to wonder what was wrong with the perennial Stanley Cup contenders. The Red Wings need to get on a roll to show they’re still a force in the West.
Detroit should be the home favorites on Saturday, but the Stars have been solid in the Motor City, winning four of their last five with three going over the posted total. Detroit has to push the issue because if this turns into a low-scoring shootout, that likely favors the Stars. Look for Detroit to get a couple of wins this week and ride that into a victory over Dallas at sports betting sites.
